Global Resource AllianceWelcome to Global Resource Alliance

GRA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to bringing hope, joy and abundance in the Mara Region of Tanzania. By sharing ideas, volunteers and financial resources with local, community based organizations we seek to promote natural, holistic and sustainable solutions to the challenges of poverty, malnutrition and disease. The inspiration and leadership for our work comes from the communities we serve. We believe that empowering local communities to address pressing social, economic and environmental challenges according to their own vision and their own creative potential is the key to lasting solutions.

2013 Appeal from GRA’s President

This is the season to count our blessings – family, friends, a roof over our heads, food on the table and clean water coming out of a pipe right in our own home.  Family and friends seem to be universal, but running water, sufficient food, basic healthcare and educational opportunities are mere dreams to almost one in seven people on the planet today.

Global Resource Alliance is about bringing hope and abundance to some of the world’s most impoverished communities by exploring and implementing simple, natural and affordable solutions to the challenges of hunger, water, poverty and disease – solutions applicable to many areas of the world.

Take for example hard rock boreholes.  Equipped with a top quality hand pump, one of these wells will produce decades of clean, safe water for up to 500 people – and our experienced Tanzanian crew has completed over 60 in the past three years alone.

Or GRA’s highly effective natural protocol for the prevention and treatment of one of Africa’s most persistent and lethal health problems – malaria.  Locally prepared homeopathic neem drops and Artemisia capsules can reduce the incidence of the disease significantly or even prevent it completely. If malaria is contracted, an activated mineral solution costing pennies can cure it completely in less than 3 days.

In Kinesi Village, the permaculture training center continues to help 75 families caring for orphans grow their own wholesome, organic food.  The local staff there, in partnership with WeForest of Belgium, has provided organic agroforestry training and distributed over 180,000 tree seedlings for free to local villagers.  Trees are one of nature’s great miracles, providing food, fuel, timber, medicine, shade, wildlife habitat while at the same time preventing soil erosion and moderating local climate.

This year, another of our valued partners, Deloitte Belgium, donated 60 computers and provided two weeks of IT training to two Musoma schools and 15 NGOs.  Gorta, The Freedom from Hunger Council of Ireland, provided a generous grant that will enable us to purchase a new drilling rig and air compressor for many years of continued progress in the search for rural water supplies.

We count these all as great blessings, yet the need is vast and your continued support is both needed and greatly appreciated.  Please take a look at our featured projects above and join us in meeting those goals.  It may sound like a cliché (and I guess it is) but truly, together, we can make a difference – in the life of a single child, a whole community and the world.

Many blessings,

Lyn Hebenstreit
President, Global Resource Alliance
